most cars are hemis, its just the design of the cumbustion chambers, it really pisses me off that dodge puts so much stock in something thats so popular, just relyin on the people to be stupid

^^Its part history, part marketing hype, and part common sense.

The Hemi engines of the 60's and 70's are still some of the most impressive engines ever made. Hype because people who don't know what Hemis are assume that its a really good engine, and hey they are right! Common sense because hemispherical heads are among the most resistant to detonation than any other head's geometry so you can run slightly higher compressions than say a pent roof head.
