I'm purchasing a 2005 4Runner and the dealer offers a 5-year Simoniz paint protection package. Is this worth the extra expense?

It's Snake-oil.

Save the money and buy a portercable and proper waxes.

Don't do it WASTE OF MONEY! I't just a way for the dealership to make more money off of you.

i work at a dealership and i agree that stuff is overpriced.

all they do is apply a sealer to your cars paint one time. For the product to do what it claims you are supposed to do it at least once per year...

you would be better off just doing it yourself.

Totally Honda applys this produce called diamond cote, basically a paint cleaner and wax in one one time then they send you home with the bottle. You can probably do better with a good can of real car wax and some elbow grease. In five years I have never had a problem with the paint on my car and that is probably all they cover with the extra plan?
