View Full Version : Horsepower Inquiry ???

The 6.0L PSD has 325hp and 560 ft lbs of torque in the F-series but in the E-series it has 235hp and 440 ft lbs of torque. The factory says it's the exact same engine but loses 90 hp due to exhaust configuration.
Now you can increase the hp by installing a 4 inch stainless exhaust by not even 10 percent so why does my E-350 with a 410 rear end fall a whopping 90 hp short?

are those numbers at the crank? or wheels?

Edit: i re-read the thread;
it's prolly running a different Computer.. CHIP IT, and do some exhaust

It's almost impossible to lose that much hp just from the pipes unless you have a cork for a muffler. Everything from cam duration to valve sizes can affect you hp by that much easily. It may be the same block and setup but the exhaust configuration likely includes the above stuff. Your model is likely designed to be easier on gas. The other model is letting more exhaust out with every revolution which increases hp.
