how cool...if we're gonna clone something lets start with this! i really wish they can pull out some dna samples and make a live dinosaur:clap:

That's quite the breakthrough!

...but even if we cloned it, who would want a live T.Rex? Not me, that's for sure!

CLONE THAT SHIT, that is an awsome find, its about time we stated reinhabiting the earth with large carnivorous lizards :)

i highly doubt they will be able clone a Trex from whatever DNA sample they will be extracting. the bonds that hold the DNA together is relatively weak, and after 70 million years i doubt they will be able to extract the complete DNA genome in one piece. if anything they'll have to sequence every single fragment of DNA they find and try to put them together like a puzzle by looking for overlapping regions.

and even if they do have the complete DNA genome, they cant just stick it in a testtube or any random embryo and expect a little baby dinosaur coming out of it.

still, I want them to try just to see what a dinosaur ACTUALLY looked like, not some artist's idea of what they think it looks like

Wow thats neat, think of the possibilities with that tissue sample

(sung to the tune of McArthurs Park by Richard Harris)

I recall the time they found those fossilized mosquitoes
And before long, they were cloning DNA
Now I'm being chased by some irate veloceraptors
Well, believe me... this has been one lousy day
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone shut the fence off in the rain
I admit it's kinda eerie
But this proves my chaos theory
And I don't think I'll be coming back again
On no
I cannot approve of this attraction
'Cause getting disemboweled always makes me kinda mad
A huge tyrannosaurus ate our lawer
Well, I suppose that proves... they're really not all bad
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
What a crummy weekend this has been
Well, this sure ain't no E-ticket
Think I'll tell them where to stick it
'Cause I'm never coming back this way again
Oh no... oh no

Isn't this the part where they cross blended the DNA of a certain african bullfrog with the dino DNA, to fill in the missing gaps?? :D

Soft tissue can last 70 million years??

BerserkerCatSplat

^ It's very well-preserved. How it's preserved, I have no idea. I though soft tissue was destroyed when the bone fossilized.

so, did they figure out what color the trex's skin is?

If T-Rex tissue can last 70 million years, I don't see the big deal with Health inspectors and BBQ pork hanging in a window for a few days.

that is wikid!

but i bet they wont bea ble to extract the whole DNA sequence since DNA isnt very stable... if all we had was RNA then hey maybe the outcome would be better!!
