I have no experience with them, but beautiful cars IMO

fd's are great. Just remember they are a rotory so they are different from every other car you have owned. There are certain steps you can take to maintain a rotory, you just have to know what you are doing. Great cars though

The oil seals on rotary engines go pretty easy if they're not taken care of.

danno

that's basically what i'm checking up with. love the look, know nothing about the rotary. :burnout:

with no camshafts or valvetrain, there's no timing belt :P alternator and water pump belts perhaps.

danno

i was beginning to think that timing is controled by the ecu, right??

I am a little hung over right now , but I own a 93 RX-7 , if you remind me to reply later on I will help ya out. also if you need some info , join www.rx7club.com =)

yeah, the rx7 owners club forums is a wealth of info for all 3 generations. and some rx8's. 3rd gens are probably ECU controlled, ignition timing is probably a multi-coil setup that reads off the crank or something. doubt it's a distrubutor/hall sensor set up.

as far as intake and exhaust ports go, that seems to be a pretty rotor-dependant thing.

i have a carburated 1st gen with an LSD rear end, and i already love it. i can imagine an FD would just plaster a grin on your face.

just the thought of driving it makes me smile. \
i'm just waiting on the woman to send me some maintance papers. since it's oregon i can't test it. so i'm a little concered.
it would be a fun drive home, any one up for a trip??

Im thinking about looking for a 3rd gen myself.

danno

The only thing i've heard is that the TT ones like to overheat, but other than that, they are super PHAT!

all FDs are Twin Turbo...

CSMRX7

Overheating is really not an issue in Calgary, plus you can always upgrade the radiator fairly inexpensively.

danno

i'll hit you up on that offer for a ride. let me know when.
other than that, if i get this one i'll pick up at the end of this month. there is a ton down in flordia that i would love to get but it's so far away.

I don't think beige was ever offered on the FD.

Mazda spec is 85 psi minimum, they will run with alot lower than that, but they tend to be down on power, they flood easily, use alot more gas, and kinda soggy feeling to drive.. Kinda depends on what altitude its tested at to, but if wont crank over 80 , I would say something is wrong with the motor, or its just plain worn out..Maxt

well that's good i felt bad, but i'm glad that it is fixed.
maybe it's some kind of omen for me, not to buy the car???
oh well won't know till it happens. anyways i email her looking for some result's, i guess i find out when she get's back to me.

was it the pipe you played around with??? maybe she was just messing with ya, or didn't want to scare me to much??

hopefully i can find a rx7 for this summer or worse case next summer.
thanks for coming out, you to james

It was the lower one I think who knows. A set of hard pipes fixes this problem so maybe I should buy some just in case.

I saw a gold one in the Arbour lake area back awhile...
Red racing seats, full bodykit (kinda hazy, but maybe Veilside/knockoff?) Dropped, full exhaust, big rims, fucking loud, this thing was built to the tits.
I saw it like, everyday for a good few weeks, and then gone...
