I will be swapping my motor from a 94 civic si coupe. Contemplating between the B16A G1 and the B16A G2? The B16A G1 is a Cable transmission and the G2 a hydraulic transmission, which one is better? I will be turbo charging the engine. Would either of these engines just drop in? How much modification is needed? I'm a handy man, but never did a engine swap before and would just like some feedback to know if its a good idea to do it myself or send it to a shop. Even suggestions on a different engine or a good shop to send it to would be helpful as well.

Thanks in advance.

Your car uses a hydro tranny, stick with a 2nd gen B16A. It has higher compression making 170hp, its a newer engine, and the tranny doesn't have to be modified to fit your car.

You will also need integra axels and shift linkage to make it work.
