How about this: A tuned version of the new (’04/’05) model of the Porsche 911 (the official Porsche 911 - or 997 - turbo is not yet available) with better brakes, more sporty chassis, aggresive looking bodykit, big rims, better interior and this: a turbo. That turbo boosts the cars power and torque to amazing figures: 840 bhp and 880 nm! The power this engine produces will thrust the car from 0 - 300 km/h in 17,4 seconds. Just for the record, a Volkswagen Polo with a 1.2 litre engine has just barely made it to a hundred km/h in that time.

German tuner 9ff has previously made name for itself by setting the world record for top speed in a production car with 388 km/h in a 9ff turbo version of the Porsche 996 (previous 911). The new record smashed the old one (by a McLaren F1) by 2 km/h! A couple of weeks ago there was a report that the Koenigsegg CC-R broke the world record, but that car also did 388 km/h. I guess they are sharing the honors!

you can buy just the body kit but they are building 20 cars with 800+ horsepower. the "prototype" went over 240mph. i cant find the mag right now for all they detials but it was featured in "the magazine about porsche Excellence"
