is there any way to paint brakes

im getting my rims put on in a week or so, and i was wondering if anyone knows if painting the brakes is bad or what to do or how to do ?

i guess the best advice i can offer is paint only the calipers?

WHat part of the brakes do you want to paint?

Rotor is a no no
Pads are a no no
Caliper is a sure.

Use high heat or specific brake caliper paint so that it doesnt heat up and melt and make a mess and disappear.

There are a few ways to do it, one, take off the caliper and goto a work bench, cover up the insides and everything important and go spray, but then you would have a bleed your system.

Another which alot of people do is cover the rotor and lines and etc.. with newspaper/tape so that onyl the brake caliper is showing, then spray, saves alot of disassembly and reassembly but if you dont cover everything up right you might end up with say a yellow line on your struts or something.

Another would be to take off the rotor and just hang the caliper, cover up importants then spray.

I've done it before with just Tremclad rust paint in a can & a small paint brush. I'm guessing you have drums on the rear, just take them off, give them a light sanding and spray paint them:thumbsup:
