If someone is not willing to drop $300 plus on a set of SIDI's, what kind of footwear would they wear?

I mean normal footwear, $100 or less.

I see all types of losers on sport bikes wearing running shoes, I'm sure we will see their severed foot on the highway at some point..............

I would just save up and buy some riding boots. Its night and day compared to anything else

If you can't cough up the green for armored riding boots (and lets face it, sometimes you just can't), at least get something made of thick/strong leather, preferably without laces or with concealed laces. You want it to come over your ankles. Try for an engineer boot, or something like that.

But proper moto boots are designed to take impacts common to riding. Always better to use something purpose-built for the job.

Edit: I'll be using my steeltoes until I can afford some real boots.

You could even try used boots, its a lot cheaper and they are broken in.

I bought Doc Martens (boots over the ankle)and I always tuck the laces in and double knot them.
