I agree with the wheels, not a fan of the multi-spoke design. Very much prefer the 5-star wheels on the Sport Package.

I saw a black 350 at Hyatt on the weekend, the car just doesn't look nice without the sport package. But if you are going to get the sp, you might as well opt for the AMG version. Where else are you going to get 100 more hp, not to mention the other upgrades for $5k more?!?!

Once I get my car and house situation taken care of, that bitch will be on my driveway. :D

It's not that much money if you think about it. Sure, a lot of younger people won't be able to "afford" it, but there are lots of middle aged to older men who could easily.

mmmm. SLK 55 AMG. I haven't seen one one yet only seen SLK200's (butt ugly with their wheels) and SLK350's.
I agree with Kamen, it is a good price, would be better if it was 5G's more cheaper. But still a lot cheaper than most roadsters (and they aren't hardtop! :) )

I start to see a lot of SLK's on the road and the look has worn off on me.

I just don't like the proportion of the car. The rear almost seems to short or bubbily. A slightly more expensive Boxster looks a bit more smooth/elegant.

Tho this is probably the only convertible you can drive year round in Calgary.

For me, I like both SLK55 and Boxster S .. even they both around $90K .. and sort of similiar performance .. ( 4.7 second vs 5.2 ? .. yeah half a second is big for rage :D )

From different tests, they got similiar track time .. but they handle very different ...

If someone still perfer a stick, will take the Boxster, won't even look at the Benz, but if getting a boxster S with auto .. then go for Benz! ;)

Anyway .. most people still blindly follow Porsche sky high image .. :D

If SLK 350 and a Basic Boxster, then easy choice -- > Boxster !

hehe I'm talking laptimes. The SLK32 was 3 seconds a lap faster than the boxster S at race city. The SLK55, with the 7 speed tranny and 20 more hp, should be even faster. I could care less about 0-60, anything in the 5 second range would get you a huge stunting ticket lol.

You were looking at the SLK 350 vs the Boxster S performance. They were within a second of each other, but the SLK350 is $25k cheaper and has an available 6 speed!

hehe yea, that's what I hate, folks that care about the name. The Boxster IMO is a HUGE ripoff, considering the lackluster performance.

Finally, AUTO 4EVER!!! haha, the new generation auto trannys are so sweet. Makes it perfect for everyday driving AND track use.

Anyway, like the test between base 997 and loaded 987 S. 987 S is faster on track, and 50% cheaper ! but that guy still picked a basic 997 over the 987 S ! just because the "911" name :rofl:

The 987 destroyed the slk350 on the track. With the improved suspension on the 55 it should be a close match between the S and the 55. Personally Id rather have a 987 S, the 986 S was a blast to drive and I hear the new one is much much better.
