/////AMG

Here are this weeks dumb laws. Remember that these laws either exist now and are enforced, or still exist but aren't enforced. They DO exist though.

Philippines: Cars whose license plates end with a 1 or 2 are not allowed on the roads on Monday, 3 or 4 on Tuesday, 5 or 6 on Wednesday, 7 or 8 on Thursday, and 9 or 0 on Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Mexico: Bicycle riders may not lift either foot from the peddles, as it might result in a loss of control. Also, anyone who whistled at or annoyed a bicycle rider could be arrested.

Canada: It is illegal to kill a sick person by frightening them.

If you whistle at someone riding a bike OR driving a car in Alberta, you could get charged with stunting. (TSA 115(1)(e))

I don't think that the one from Canada is that outrageous. Its not exactly a law either - its caselaw under culpable homicide that reads that if you are engaged in a criminal act, for instance breaking into a house or robbing somebody, and that the victim or a witness dies as a result of your criminal act -even through a stress/fear induced heart-attack - then you are responsible for their death.

I think that that is reasonable.

I think the Canada one is just too specific, eh? Makes it sound like it's legal to kill a healthy person by frightening them.

I smell next summer's horror movie.

^ To say that its illegal is a gross overstatement. The Act that governs cash transactions just says that nobody must take more than 50 pennies as payment despite the fact that a penny is legal tender. There is no attached charge - the seller just has the right to refuse more than 50 pennies as payment.

This is to prevent, say, somebody who owes $20000 in taxes to dump 2000000 pennies onto Revenue Canada's doorstop.

Exactly what it is meant for. Or the dirty kids who stuff $2 in pennies into their socks to buy a slurpee.

It's not illegal to pay for something with pennies. Businesses have a right to refuse payment in this manner, however.

it means like if you carry your own protection say a woman with pepper spray or small handgun in her purse, she wouldn't be allowed to use it, she'd have to try and get the attacker's weapon...pretty wack imo...also it's not detailed enough since anything can be used as a weapon...filipino's can vouch for that, cuz i know when my mom was gonna punish me, shiet she hasd a whole house worth of weapons, pots, pans, sticks, shiet even video cassets and cd's haha :eek:

you dont actually have to use the attackers weapon against him, you could have a similar weapon and fend them off with that. ex: robber has knife, you pull out a knife. robber has gun, you pull out a gun.

Its funny that you can be stunting even if you have no drivers license. I actually asked a cop if you can fine a girl for being attractive, he said that its never been done, but they sure are distracting sometimes :)
