Its a pretty nice domestic. Shortest design time for a car ever as well I think. It took 6 months from start to finish.

That is one wierd intake manifold. Nice car, throw in an LS2 and the car would be kickass.

any word on the price? i heard a base model was 19,000 US in the states, should be pretty close to that here since prices don't really reflect the exchange rate

IMO this car is but ugly compared to its sister, the Saturn Sky.

The Sky is such a nice looking car, and its a damn Saturn
Will there be a Redline, or wutever Pontiacs racing division is, of this car?

It was on Apprentice this week and I actually like the lines on this one better than Sky but I guess I'll have to see a Sky in motion.

BTW:

Still no price mentioned for Canadian. I'll say $25K.

From what i've read in the Wheels Section of the Herald, it'll start at $26,625 which is pretty good.

It looks like GM has finally seen the light. While Dodge is going out of its way to make their cars boxy & ugly and Fords well ........ Fords just blow, GM is starting add some flare to their exterior styling and alot of their new interiors are light years better than the crap they have put out in the last 20 years.

GM is starting to use the same trannies they throw in saabs for their 'performance' oriented cars. For instance if you feel the shifter on an Ion redline compared to a base Ion its a world of difference.

Don't know if Sky will happen or not, it isn't confirmed.

But Sky was rumored to be priced about $30K US so expect to be mid $30's in Canada. But should have a supercharged Ecotec (like all red-line products) which is good for around 200+ HP. It'll be trick too if they can throw in an auto top for that price.

They could be a fun little car. I hope they integrate a bit of the old Vauxhal version in this car. Handling would be awesome.

Argh... none of that is true.

:bullshit:

The Sky WILL be out next year, and the redline version will be a TURBOcharged 2.0 Ecotec putting down 235HP.

if you go to this link and click 360 view you can see it from the passenger side with the top up, and in the photo galley there is a rear 3/4 view with the top up.

I read somewhere that the Solstice will be limited to 20,000 a year and will be hand built, also that you have to put your name down for one and pretty much pay for the car up front, can anyone confirm this?

Not likely since it's only sold for so little.

Yea I don't actually believe it for that price, maybe some guy glues the badge on at the end of the line and that gives GM the right to say its hand built, I'll see if I can find something though.
