Now, there are actually a couple of problems with this laptop. First off the touchpad doesn't work and I have no idea why. I reformatted the computer and installed the drivers provided by HP but it still doesn't work. If you want I can give you my Microsoft Intellimouse Optical (5 buttons + 1 wheelscroll).
>>>The touchpad now works.<<<
The second problem is even weirder: for some reason when you do a hard boot (turning it completely off then back on) the USB ports don't work. The light on the touchpad doesn't light up either (it's a button that you can turn it on or off). You have to wait around 30 minutes for the touchpad light to slowly light up, then you'll be able to use the USB ports again without a problem. I'm always running on AC power, mind you. I rarely use the battery.
The battery can last for 3 hours, even when running graphic-intensive games. It can run Half-Life 2 with a decent framerate if you put it on the lowest 16:10 resolution with low-normal quality. It runs Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix (http://www.planetsoldier.com/) very well on 800x600 at normal-high quality (I can give you that for free as well if you wish). UT2004 also runs pretty well at 640x480 with normal quality.
If you're wondering why the RAM was newly replaced, that's because Compaq/HP had announced back then that some of the laptops they released had defective RAM, and mine happened to be one of them, so they mailed me the new RAM after I submitted my computer info to them.
This laptop is also perfect for watching movies with, since it has a 15.4" widescreen LCD.
This unit was bought in Aug 2003 for $2399.99. Since it has a couple of problems I wish to sell this at $1000 (now $800). As I said, I can provide the USB mouse if you want, as well as a Network Everywhere 802.11B Router that came with the laptop. I would recommend you to bring it to someone for a checkup though and see if the USB ports and touchpad problem can be fixed. I reckon it's power supply related.
I will accept cash, check or PayPal. If you're using a credit card via PayPal you will need to cover the 2.9% + $0.55 fee.
I will also do some cleaning on the laptop, including making the monitor look nice and shiny (I have a bottle of Monster ScreenClean that works wonders).
All manuals and bundled software are included.
I am also open to trade for a desktop, since I'm planning to buy one. I'm looking for something similar to this:

(I'm trading the DVD-RW for an additional 512MB RAM if I'm to buy from this seller)
