Hey guys,
I think it is time for me to get a new vehicle. Which vehicle I really dont know yet. I was hoping that I could get some opinions and thoughts from everyone.

Here are my requirements:

- 2004 or 2005
- SUV or Car
- AWD or 4WD
- $17k-$27k
- 6 or 8 cylinder
- Room for passengers / small cargo
- Safe/Good collision rating
- Good gas mileage

I was thinking of a Blazer or Jimmy but they seem so ordinary.
Throw some more ideas on the table for me to consider.

I think a A4 would be the best, good gas milege and awd, room for 5 and some cargo space. However I'am not 100% sure if you can get a 2004-2005 for under 27k.

I have been looking at websites for the last few hours...
I have a few vehicles on the list, but there is no definite pattern emerging.

- Impreza 2.5 RS
- VW Jetta (Maybe TDI) (Yea I know, not AWD)
- GMC Jimmy

Thats really all that I like that is in my price range right now.

Anyone have any advice/reccomendations on the above?

What about Toyota Rav4? AWD, good on gas, definitly room for cargo/ppl, and toyota reliability

Other than the cylinders issue. The Rav4 is definately the best bang for the buck. As well you can add on reliability, comfort and not a dull 4wd box. But if your looking for performance and power then disregard this post.

Actually, the Honda CR-V is the definately the best bang for his buck if he were to opt for a 4cyl :D

I thought Blazer/Jimmy had some of the worst collision ratings of most suv's out there, and mediocere fuel effeciency?

Your price range is pretty big, and you're choices (subie, vw, and jimmy) are all VERY different..:)

depends what you want out of the car right?

maybe a jetta GLI?!?!?!?!!..or the VR6 one?

I went thru this in december when buying a "cute-ute" for my girlfriend. The CR-V really bored the hell outta me. I felt like the stereotypical oriental in it and found myself driving recklessly.jk. The interior & exterior of RAV-4 is more stylistic. but honestly going with a Toyota or a Honda is a better option on its own. eh, to each his own.
