I've had more than a couple PM's of pricing if I part out. So here's what I'm willing to do.

ABIT IC7 MAX3 Motherboard (Intel 875 Chipset)
Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz CPU (Northwood core, 800MHz FSB)
4x256MB OCZ PC4000EL DDR RAM (1GB Dual-Channel, 500MHz)
Asus V9999GE 6800 Video Card (I sold one of these awhile back, you can see the thread HERE (http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?threadid=78198))

$1000

Do the math, it's a stupid price. But I can probably re-use the rest of the parts so I don't mind getting rid of these. Interested parties please PM me.

The CPU, Motherboard and Video card alone are worth almost $1000! Lower the price, they say. Have you even bothered to CHECK the value of these parts, or do you just post blindly that it's too much money?

If you're not interested in the system, don't bother commenting on it. If you're interested in it, PM me your offer.

<sigh> I don't know why I even bother with Beyond any more. I've had deals with some really great people on here but others leave a lot to be desired. :dunno:

New, the parts add up to around 2500, not sure why you're all busting his chops on this. He obviously knows he's going to be OBO so it's maybe a few hun high, but whatever - don't buy it.

JUST for shits and giggles, let's look at some pricing.

Comparable motherboard (because the MAX3 is somewhat rare and you can't get it easily) would be the ASUS P4C800-E, MemEx has it at $260. Plus tax. So let's consider the MAX3 to be worth somewhere around $225, just to be liberal.

The CPU is Intel's older "Northwood" core. Its 3.2GHz Prescott "e" counterpart is $270 at OEMDepot. Everyone knows the Northwood is the faster version of the 3.2, but I'll be liberal and call this CPU worth $225. Same as the motherboard. Happy? We're at what, $450 now.

Moving on, the video card. This is a special-order item. OEMDepot has it listed at $519. As usual, don't forget tax. Let's call it $500 just because. Brings our total to $950 - that's already around $150 lower than the new parts after tax. And I was liberal on the parts pricing.

RAM. Did you guys even bother to check pricing on this OCZ PC4000 RAM? Let me hold your hand and help you out on this one. I couldn't find pricing locally, but NCIX has it listed HERE (http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=10818&vpn=OCZ500512ELDCGE-K&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology) at $275. Plus tax. Plus shipping. Would it be fair to call my 1GB $500?

Oh, I forgot to mention, I've got almost all the original boxes and original reciepts. Thanks for coming out. Too expensive indeed.

Good system, worth everybuck, those cpus rip when it comes down to the overclocking of intels, and to back that cpu with some good ram, i'm sure you could see this thing fly up to the 4 ghz marks. Good luck with the sale!

how much would you take with out OS?

Thats a good price, people seem to forget that you have to look at the specs of each component, buying the parts is like buying a car, you can get a car for 1000 bux, but you could get a much better car for 3000, both do the same thing, but the more expensive one will be overall better, like your ram, you can get 1GB of ram pretty cheap, but thats cos its cheap ram, the ram in your system is quality, same with the rest of the components.

This is why you see high end spec computers for sale for cheap, they look good on paper, but the quality of the parts used ain't as good as a machine like yours.

Hope that helps people understand the price of this pc, I'd buy it if I didn't hate PCs and want a Mac.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Count me in for 8000.

It's easy to see these parts run super-fast - I can't even catch them on camera without getting a blurry image.

Naw, I'm kidding you, I did them without flash to emphasize the ultra l33t LED's on the parts ;)

Here are some clearer pictures taken with a flash.
