Is that rms? 150 watts * 2 what are the specs and what does it look like?
Thanks

150 watts is NOT going to power an HX2. More like something between 800-1000 watts... Sorry 2.2vtec, but to use the sub to it's fullest potential, you can cheap out on it :(

I'm sure a 400 watt rms amp will do fine. I'm just powering the one sub, espcially if i'm using a ported box I would need a less powerful amp. If I get a box that is small and sealed I could then see that getting a more powerful would be best.

No man, that's a nice sub. Just save your money and power it to the fullest. Check out Econosound, they might have something powerful enough in your price range.

Too bad. The HX2 is a nice DVC sub with a heck of a punch. Even 400 watts rms won't do it justice. By hey, different strokes for different folks, eh? :)
By the way mrmattyk, didn't mean to kill your sale there :) Your amp would power some front speakers pretty nicely though

Oh dont worry it's all good. I think I am going to keep it for my new car any ways, I just wanted to hook someone up with a good deal (that amp retails 250).
I'll keep my eyes peeled for an amp around 800 watts though...

try pawn shops. there is one by my house with an 800w rockford for like $300. its the older model though.
thats still a good amp, it's 2 ohm stable, I installed one for a guy with a pheonix tantrum 10 dvc, it sounded good!

if your willing to look at other brands, alpines mrd-m500 should do it.
i belive at 2 ohms and 14.4 volts its around 600 rms, peaks at 900 or there abouts.
they can be found for 600 bucks in edmonton, so its not dirt cheap.
also saw a massive alpine at international (the great evil!!) on clearance for 675 bucks, but it wasnt a digital class D, and therefore, maybe not the best choice.
