Hey I just bought a short shifter off ebay from built4race the thing was only thirty bucks inc shipping  anyways the only reason why I got it is because it had great reviews on the mr2oc board. Anyways which ones did you guys choose to go with and why? I believe mine is a B&M replica

B&M Is what I went with.

Chose it because I believe it is the top of the line of shortshifters.:dunno:

TRD. Saw how it looked in Spoolin's car and had to have it.

Shifting is alittle notchy, but the nice short throws and feel offset that big time!!:bigpimp:

TRD here as well for the nice short throws, huge improvement over the 91 OEM shifter.

I went with the 93+ with the speed source bushings and 98+ JDM knob with red stitching. There are 3 parts to the full TwosRUs kit. The first is the 93+ shifter, the second is a peice of flat bar with 2 holes drilled in it and the third is the drop plate.

The peice of flat bar you can make in your garage in 3 mins. The drop plate can probably done by using washers. I am gonna try it soon and I will let you know.

I got the drop plate from TwosRus as well as the brass bushings, and boy was it a huge difference from the stock 93 shifter.

The throws are much shorter and it feels like you're in gear vs sloppyness of before.

Max,

There's a B&M replica set at Autodream, Marvin ordered it for me as a "surprise" without knowing I already ordered the TwosRus one. It has the shorter shifter rod too. Might be better than buying it from E-bay.

no its actually pretty smooth.. my stock one felt way less solid than this one..It sits lower and throws are dramatically reduced.. If we have a meet soon i can let you try it out .. Damn i should have taken pictures (before and after)!!

im not sure i never had my stock shifter to begin with. but my razo shifter wouldnt fit.. The threads in the plastic liner in the shifter dont come down far enough to grab

I have TRD. At first, it doesn't seem the shifts don't seem THAT short, but you learn to appreciate it way more after driving a stock ST184 Celica during the winter. Although I'll tell you that the ball shifter it cames with kinda sucks. It's too small. Swapped over a leather Razo one, looks almost the same as the stock shifter, and is a perfect fit with the stock boot.

Heh, pardon my ignorance, but I've never known what the definition of "notchy" is. Does it mean its kinda like click click (ie. has too much definition)?

clem..

kinda hard to switch geears, like you can feel it stick and such, like notches...

I just hooked up my shifter cables over the weekend, and all i can say is the B&M is smooth and nice and short, the knob is not bad either.

Oh, ok I get it. Then yes, by that definition, the TRD is notchy in 4th. Other gears seem to feel fine. But then again, even with the stock shifter in place, I've always found it harder to get out of 4th than any other gear.

clem..
