Hey,
im looking to buy my first car and i dont want to blow all the money ive been saving up on a car i dont even really like.
I have been looking into 92-95 mx3 precidias and 90-95 integras. what do you guys think is better and for what reasons. Please give me all your information and comments would love to hear them.

I've owned both, both are good cars. The mx3 with the V6 was my favored of the two. The little V6 is much smoother than the I4 of the teg (it was not a GSR). If you into moddiing and stuff, then the teg is the better choice since there are more options available to you. My advice, drive both.

if you get an mx3, please get a black one, any other color just look damn girly. But I really like my teg but have never driven an mx3 so you can see which one I would choose.

i only plan to put in cold air intake and probably new exhaust and maybe hp increaser. but which car stock gives you better bang for your buck?

I like both cars , I like the 93 integra's , people are asking way too much for 94+ integs in calgary these days

but seeing that ur from edmonton , u could prolly get it cheaper , so either car would be nice

does anyone know how the insurance would be for a young driver on either of these cars?

Intake, header, exhaust, all good things. That damn ebay chip, however, will do nothing but kill your motor.

Integra. You don't want to have to tell people you're "just driving your gf's car for the day" GS-R if you can swing it

i've driven a 90 integra and a mx 3 precidia (non v6)
the precidia was just slow.. i've driven a tempo.. reminded me of it.. my 90 integra.. the shifting is just gay.. maybe cause it's old.. but i like the smoothness in the mx3

Integra pros:
Faster
More Mods
easy to find parts
probably many more

mx3 (non v6)
slow.. nicer body then the 90-93 integra even tho i sometimes thinks it's a girly body.. haha

ahh i don't know.. go for the teg..

if you're going mx-3, go with nothing shy of the v6. what does the 4 cyl have like 90 hp? the v6 is a weak 130 but at least thats more juice than the stupid 90 hp ;) and yea imo mx-3 v6 drives a bit more smoother than a 2nd gen teg.

okay so i guess i narrowed it down between a integra and a v6 mx3. does anyone know much about the V6 mx3's?

I'm biased too but I love my Teg, so I think that you can guess which way.

if you get the Mx-3 from Toronto you can get them for hardly any money (seen one with 140k go for $3500). local, they seem to have kept their value pretty well and run around $4k-$6k. my buddy has had two MX-3s, the old one was a stock V6 and it was reasonably quick with an exhaust and intake, and the new one is a swapped V6 and it is ridiculously fast with a T3/T4 turbo (but that is probably out of your price range :D)

despite how ugly that "snot rocket" was, it was cool to see a mx-3 with the mx-6's v6 engine :D

Integra. Look for a 92-93 GSR, great car. My buddy picked one up for $4500. Had high km, but it still runs good.

Those were my options 2 years ago, I picked the mx3 over the teg.

Both are nice cars, but the mx3 just seems more detailed and the drive feels a little nicer...

Speed wise if you get the basic teg (LS/GS) it'll be pretty much the same as the V6 mx3. Its really not THAT much of a different. The mx3 is like a civic with a bit more juice.

But either way, I dont think you can go wrong

actually now that the one guy brought it up... get a 240 or import a 180SX or Silvia. if you import it, you save on the up front purchase price, and you can insure it for next to nothing.
screw FWD, especially FWD Honda. all the 240 needs is sleepy eye headlights, a bit of lowering, and a set of 16" 6-spokes and it is a damn fine lookin car.

Everyone sees Integras everywhere. Go for something more unique and stylish and grab the Precidia.

Perfectly fine if you're not intending to race with it. And if that's the case, swap it for a KLZE for 196HP = girly car my ass.

They would both be good first cars. They are both commuter cars that make good grocery getters get the one you like better and who the fuck cares if a couple of guys think one is a lady's car since over 60% of civic owners are female and I don't hear anyone calling a civic a women's car. If you planned on spending money on mods don't buy either car as intake/exhaust/headers will do nothing to make these cars faster and turbocharging an N/A car is not a good choice to do on your first car. Use the money you would spend on mods and get a newer ride.

It's pretty hard to find a 2nd gen with low km's that hasn't been "customized" (shitty paint, altezzas, gaudy rims) find a one that hasn;t been abused and they are nearly bullet proof.

I see girls behind the wheels of civics, cavs, corollas and even mustangs all the time too almost as much as I see guys behind the wheel. This proves nothing. If performance really is going to be that much of an issue with it, swap it for the 2.5 ZE and with the handling it has and the lower weight class it carries, having that much kick in it after the swap will more than make you happy.

The V6 Precidia's decent for just driving, the motor's so wee though that it looks like a right pain in the ass to work on.

And I always thought it looked like a shoe.

Have had my MX-3 for just over 6 months. Only thing I've needed to repair/replace since ownership were warped rotors and tires. Only 2 other previous owners and based on them, the vehicle is still running on its original timing belt, water pump, cv joints, suspension, etc. from the 1st day it rolled out of the factory. Granted, some of those parts SHOULD be replaced out of the sake of maintenance, but over 10 years later, those parts are still doing their job so I wouldn't say that there are many MAJOR flaws that are common enough to scare you away from it.

95 Integra.
Forget about 2nd gen or MX3s.
