View Full Version : FS - Mugen Sports Suspension Kit

Mugen Sports Suspension Kit, 5 - Way Adjustable spring and damper set. This set-up rides amazingly!! Great for road course or street. 5 settings to choose from. I believe it is a 1.5 or 2 inch drop.

This kit is for '97 and up Acura Integra. It can be installed on earlier DC4, as long as the rear lower control arms are upgraded. Kit is currently installed on my '95 Integra and rides great.

Looking for $500 for the set.

I think they will fit, but i know the rear lower control arms need to be changed. My stock control arms wouldn't fit the rear suspension, so i changed to TypeR lower's. It's possibly the same for an EL.

YES!, they'll work, but like InVtec said, you'll have to get the TypeR rear lower control arms * i'm not 100% sure, but i belive the integra typeR or any integra lower control arms (LCA) are one-sixteenth's of an inch longer, giving you negetive camber. BUT, that can be fixed by getting the integra UPPER control arms, evenly pushing your whole wheel out 1/16". Use any 1990-2001 integra upper control arm if you go that route..

If your on a budget, go to Pick and pull, and grab some lower control arms off a 1988 civic sedan. They are a box-in type arm that will work with the typeR rear damper, just do some research and measuring first, and find some arms with good bushings!!

BUT, You integra guys can't use civic control arms, you have to buy the typeR LCA's, as the civic LCA's are 1/16" shorter, giving you positive camber.. Isen't that a bitch.

'97 and up Integra's and TypeR's have wider and sturdier rear LCA's as well. They look entirely different but fit with little to no hassle (for DC4's at least).

Speedtech can probably get you LCA's. If not, you should be able to get used ones from JDM Source, KAWA, or YOKO. If still no, then try auto wrecker's like A-1 Parts For Less. Shouldn't be a problem finding LCA's. Call Nick @ Speedtech 250-7751. Let me know what you find...

This set-up is not a full coilover. It is a spring on dampening strut. There is a picture on the first post.

This will fit EK, you just need to replace the lower control arms in the rear. Fronts are no problem.

Not too sure, there are no real sign's of how long they were used. There is no indication of abuse or any problems about to arise. I would guess maybe 20,000. There is no real way to tell...

I am looking for a good suspension.. and interested in this..

but I think the hardest part is that

I need very rare&expensive type-R LCA parts (cost 600 CAD for two arms to buy a brand new one...)

hm... anyone can solve this mess??

we don't have much informations about Mugen suspensions but,

I feel really wanna get this like other integra guys...

Weapon_R

Just buy a set of used ITR control arms, or use some 1988 civic ones from a junkyard. Both will work, both will run you under $100, and you don't have to worry about LCAs.

Perfectly good used TypeR control arms are not that expensive, just as Weapon_R has said. Just need to spend some time calling around. Try JDM Source, SpeedTech, Yoko, or Kawa. There is alot of information in this entire thread and alot more on the WWW.

Just a question that I'm sure other people are wondering:
buying used suspension could be a possible let down as there is not really a way to test them before they are bought and installed. now this is a VERY nice set that should command a high price even though its used. yet you are asking less than half of what it costs new, I would just be worried that these may be toward the end, or even at the end of their life. why such a low price?
is there any way to aleviate my concerns on this?

InVtec
08-10-2005, 04:16 PM
alpha...

You for sure have some very valid concerns, as does anyone when buying used suspension. Unfortunately there is really no way to tell what your going to get. Daily people are buying used suspension, from the internet or from any JDM parts suppliers around. Most people i think will tell you they have bought used suspension and had little to no problems whatsoever. I'm sure there are others who have been screwd as well.

I have absolutely no problems with this set-up at all, solid ride and great handling upgrade. With that being said, I understand why everyone keeps asking "why are you selling these?". This set-up is a solid spring, non-coilover. The height it is set at is great for road course and safe daily drives. I, on the other hand like to ride extremely low, which is why I went to a full coilover set-up.

I'll meet up with anyone who is seriously inquiring about this suspension, so they can look over them. This set wasn't leaking or knocking when I installed them, and were not when I removed them.

Thank you for all of the inquiry's...now someone just need's to buy these!!
