you can only get about 200 watts out of your lighter, there is a 15 amp fuse on it

Please explain why you're turning your truck into a rolling Crock Pot. :D

let's see... toaster oven computer, slow-cooker S15...what next? ;)

you can install a bigger power inverter but you would have to install it like you would an amplifier, with power wires to the battery, then it would only be limited by your cars electrical system

The cooker should have a wattage rating.

You will have to match that to the power inverter you wanna buy.

I doubt you can find one that large though. I think the biggest you can get from Crappy Tire is 800 watts.

As well it will have to be direct connected to the battery for the amperage it will draw.

Good luck.

Most slow cookers are 700-1200W peak power. Canadian tire has inverters up to 1800W or something like that, but they're about $300 each.

A 1000W draw would be about 100A, that is a pretty damn big draw on the electrical system. If you used it with the vehicle off, your battery would last under 30 minutes.

Then your slow cooker would have to work really fast...

Run some coolant lines around the slow cooker and have the cooker run on a lower heat setting. Think of it like an extra rad that makes a mean stew.
