For my work, because they suck. I have been there 2 years and there is no electronic knowledge base for neither procedures policies or walkthrough on how to do stuff.

This botheres me, both from a user perspective because when I explain for the 1000th time how to setup an Outlook Delegate i get a bit agitated and as well when theres that one policy that i remember "something" about a couple weeks ago where there was a registry fix to fix a fouled patch our department pushed..

So, suggestions ... in MySQL programmed with PHP (by asp eventually when my company realizes its a good thing and im sick of hosting it) What are the required things? obvioulsy subject, body, procedure / technical (for classification of the type of documentation) ..

Anybody?

PS - I've never done something like this before.

Why not just install existing knowledge base software? Anything from a FAQ system to a Wiki or forum or otherwise.

Don't re-invent the wheel..
