What does everyone think of the new Mazda 6??
I'm really liking the 4 door hatchback model.
Anyone hear if we'll be getting the 220hp sport version in Canada??

According to autonet.ca, it will be available...

For its commercial debut in Canada and the U.S., the 6 will come dressed initially as a sedan. A wagon and a five-door hatchback will join the list later.

Sweet. I haven't done much homework, aside from checking the US and CDN Mazda sites. Only the US mentions having the 220hp.

I believe that engine is similar to the one used in the jag s and x types, V12 vanquish, escape and taurus.

According to local summer tests, it handles as good as the contour, but is very noisy and bumpy to drive.

Winter testing concluded that it had the most terrible heating system - took ages and didn't even manage to warm the car up when it was really cold. That's not cool.

As for looks, I don't care! bwhaha.

Who the shit cares? Those things *generally* mean the car has more road feel.

Actually excessive wind and tyre noise doesn't do you any good, I'd think.

Personally I like hard suspensions and that sort of thing. Just saying that the Mondeo has all the good stuff from Mazda 6 and still is more refined and should on top of it be a better winter car.

Yeah, but we don't get the Mondeo here...And the Contour/Mystiques were discontinued here at the end of '98.

I like the looks of the Mazda 6, I guess I'll need to wait and see though. For my next car I am definately not buying something that every 6th person has :thumbsdow :banghead:

Bleh. North American market and drivers cars don't mix that well it seems. I like the Mazda 6, good family car.. except in the winter..hahah. Question is - does it have the same performance oriented tuning like in the euro version? We all know what usually happens.

Probably not, because most north american drivers would kill themselves if put in a car that did anything other than understeer in every situation.
