I just got an invitation to go to a formal dinner in edmonton on may 24th...

I am not sure what I should wear or what kind of formalities I need to be aware of. The bottom right of the invitation says:

Black Tie / Evening Dress
Decorations

what the heck does this mean?? :english:

black tie means u can wear a tux, but a dark business suit is also appropriate
EDIT: and since its summer u can aslo wear a white dinner jacket......

If you're Scottish, a kilt and Bonny Prince Charlie Jacket make good black tie kit as well. They can be rented in Edmonton most likely. If you are not Scottish but want to wear one, you can still wear a Black Watch tartan.

Kilts are cool.

BAHAHAHA at Minh in a kilt! I am very nervous as this is my first formal dinner of this nature, and the second formal dinner I've ever been to (the other being my grad) I just wasn't sure wether Minh needed a tux or not, but we've pretty much decided he will. Time to go shopping I guess! :D *honey can I borrow your credit card?*

BTW lude_grl OMGHI2U!!11!!! LOL awesome pic, you look great! Is that your grad?

An asian guy in a kilt? That'd actually be funnier because of the guests who are there :D
