This is about the same as the hood flying off of your car? Still drives the same right, but ppl and see your motor.
I wouldn't freak out but be slightly worried and await a swift landing.

The maintenance tech does the maintenance check. The ground crew just loads and unloads the plane, and are trained to keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. That probably was okay visually on the ground

Except hood falls on deefoot, engine is subject to 100kmh of wind, engine cover falls off at 400kmh(or wutever speed planes travel at) and its a different story.
