Last Minute Deals?

Whats the deal with Last minute deals.. I hear of people going to cancun or cuba.. for like under $200 (flight only) .. how do they do it?

In the last week, there is usally seat sales, probobly not for $200 but maybe half price with a hotel included


Parents are going to Poland for 2 weeks Thrusday.. $700each..

But the ones who can take last minutes deal are usually retired or unemployed. Really hard if you have a business or job.

I saw on TV the best time to book a flight or vacation is on Wednesdays. Reason is on Weds most companies drop their prices in anticipation for the weekend price wars. They also said that if you book online the best time to do that would be one hour after midnight Tues night (so early weds morning) as this is the time that most prices get updated.

Gonna check this theory when I book my Vegas trip in August.
