My buddy wants me to check out the 'bike show' with him this weekend. I am not exactly heavily involved with the motorbike scene in Calgary, but I'd think I would hear something about it. Anyone got any info or know what I am talking about?

Yes I am aware that it exists. I would like to know when (hours that they are open), where, how much and anything special about this show (raffles, show bikes etc.) however.

I can't ask my friend, he's currently out of town having teh s3x0r with his girlfriend.

Yes, it's on this weekend, I think at the Roundup Center. Call Blackfoot at 243-2636 and ask to find out for sure. I'm pretty sure it's on 9-9 or something like that.
Some of my buddies and I are headed down Sat afternoon.

You won't be disapointed with a CBR600rr.. I can't understand why a 600 is considered a "slow" or "beginner" bike, They are NEITHER!! That thing will run a mid 10 to low 11'a and 160MPH all day long, stock. Any salesman that tells you you will be disapointed with a 600 is BSing you. I've ridded evrything from 250GP bikes to R1's on the track and nothing is more fun or easier to ride than a 600.. (ok, maybe the 250 was more fun and faster, but that's a pure-race only machine).

well he said the set-up of the r6 was not a good bbike for someone who is learning on such a powerful machine:rolleyes:
i guess ill just stick w/ a cbr:dunno:

The CBR is plenty powerful comparing to the R6... hp, weight... I think the salesman's trying to say that the R6 has a lower "race" like riding position comparing to the CBR's more "streetable" high riding position (somewhere between a sportsbike and a cruiser). If you're a beginner, it'd be more "comfortable" to ride in the CBR than the R6 on the streets. I've heard some people say that after 30min-1hr on the R6, they get soar back, wrist, shoulder, etc... but I can go for hours on the CBR, just because of the comfy riding position.

I think the 600RR ruled the show! There was always a huge crowd around it! Probably because there was only ONE there! But if you sit on it, it just feels so right... You can tuck your legs in real tight cause the tank's narrower, the gas tank's been moved to the bottom of the bike to lower and center the center of gravity, the riding position is much more natural if you tuck your head down and hence provides more wind protection! WOW!Now, just need to take it out for a spin and see how it handles in the real world!

r6 are nice bikes, kinda like the gsx600r, very tight, low seating position.

bike show in edmonton this weekend, probably going to go snap some pics.

ps: buy a ducatti, the sound is reason enough to own one :)
