Shadow tinting. Had my windows tinted there. 50% on the front, and silver/black fade on the 3 rear. Around $300 I think.

The silver/black fade was a little more expensive.

My last few cars I had them tinted at 3M Trimline too. Except I heard they don't do tinting anymore for anyone except for repeat customers.

Any window film, transparent, translucent or opaque forward of the drivers shoulders is illegal in this province.

damn, personally i don't like cars with just the back 3 windows tinted. But i can't afford a ticket so looks like no tint for me.

go to "superior tint" the guy does really good work and it's cheeper than most places, one man operation type thing. he puts a warranty on it too incase it ever bubbles or what ever.

Are you aware of how dark 25% is?!

25% will filter out 75% of all light entering the vehicle.

Please refer to below.

I was at this party once. There was this little annoying guy saying something about tinting your back window really heavily. If your tint is at a certain level and you then can't legally see out of the back, you car becomes classified a 'farm vehicle'. This means you have to pay less insurance. I am quite certain that is BS but it's worth checking out.

Well,

I've had a lot of experience with Trimline of Calgary in the NE (403.291.2777). But it is true that they won't typically do tint for the public anymore.

I believe that 3M (a leader in adhesive technology) has the best window film in the business...but more importantly, a warranty is only as good as the company that backs it. 3M Panther Tint is the only tint that I know of that has a lifetime warranty nationwide. So, if you move somewhere else, you're still covered. I would put nothing less on my own vehicle (they tinted my Jetta 35% all 7 windows). I've had over 50 vehicles tinted there, and a couple at another shop listed in this thread (not my place to say which one...). I have never had a problem with Trimline, and had a problem with the other shop both times (3 out of 7 windows once!).

Now it seems that I'm pitching their company, but truthfully, they don't make much money on it, so they'd rather not do it.

If you would like to have your vehicle tinted there, call me at work, and I'll get you in as a beyond.ca member.

Whew! :D

That sounds like a really good place. Do you know what the approximate price would be to tint the back window and the two back quarter-windows on a 88 Prelude? I'd be very interested if its not too steep. and I'll probably give you a call in a week or 2.

Under $200 for sure, but probably around $150 I would think. They're not the cheapest place in town, but you get what you pay for in this case. Let me know if I can help you.
