Ufortunately Lego has gotten lame over the past few years with too many "specialty" pieces.

I would rather have a lego set with generic pieces that make a boat instead of 3 pieces that have no other purpose than to build a boat.

^:werd: to that. I haven't bought a new set in like 8 years. I have all the generic pieces I need to do pretty much anything I want. I don't really use it anymore, but I'll pass it down to my kids someday. Building something amazing out of nothing but rectangular bricks is much better than doing the same with specialized prefab parts.

Heck, now I feel old, talking about how much better the "old" Lego used to be!
