why not get one of the new alpines that has a class D sub portion? irrc, theyve got 4 normal channels, plus the class d and pound pretty damn hard for the price.
plus theyre the sexy sexy new digital design, which i can say from experience, is very good.

I think one amp would be easier on your car, though. If it's got enough power to make your speakers and subs hit hard, go for the single.

Don't buy a 5 channel amp you will never get enough power into the sub. Use as many amps as you can fit into your car. You want every pair of speakers to be amped seperatly if possible. Just make sure you have the power wire ect. to back it up.

One amp would be less stress on your car's electrical system however you're gonna get ass power to your subs if you're running your system off of one amp.

Like others said, use seperate amps for seperate purposes. I'm getting a 4 channel to run my mids and highs and a seperate amp dedicated to run my sub. Get cleaner power running to your sub, if you don't have clean, crisp power what's the point of having a subwoofer in your car?

Why wouldn't you run two amps. Have one for the subs, and then another for the mids and tweets. It is an easy way to run a system without a crossover. In regards to your car being able to run it, I have never had a problem but you may want to be sure that you use the right gauge of power wire and maybe a cap.

for a 12" get either the mrd-m300 or the mrd-m500 if you think you might get a second later.

good strong amps, and they hit hard.

i was initially suggesting a 5 channel, as theyre good amps, but you can get an mrd-m300 and a 4 channel for about the same money, and itll give you a much stronger sub :)
