Most cars can only give power to one wheel at a time. I believe that with a differential you only turn one wheel at a time, but the LSD transfers the power to one wheel at a time so quickly that it give the illusin that the are concurrently spinning out.

Dude I never thought it was cool. I just thought it was ridicolous seeing those cars like that, and kind of funny. They look like SUV's pretty much. Those guys spent like 5-10 times more on their RIMS than their cars. Plus if they ever got a flat tire they would never know it.
