AFAIK the brakes were improved on the 93-95 MR2 turbo vs the 91-92 turbo models, but by how much? Is it worth upgrading the brakes from a 91T to OEM 93T spec? Or would one be better off just buying something aftermarket? Which aftermarket brands have kits for our cars, not sure which brands are best? Has anyone done this and how tough is it as a DIY job? I presume some SST (tools) will be needed as well.

YES....the 93 and up brakes are sooo worth it. Big brakes kits are for bling purpost only. At the recent ultimate street car challenger Brad Bedells MR2 out braked every car there. Some of the cars there even had porsche 911 turbo big red brakes or massive aftermarket kits yet Brad prevailed. The job is easy , the most time consuming part is installing the new brake master cylinder.

Big brake kits are breath taking expensive. The only place you might see benifits from them would be a track day. 93+ brakes with good pads will out brake almost every thing out there.

As for how hard? It is pretty simple. Do yourself a favor and get some speed bleeders at the same time becasue you are gonna be bleeding your complete brake system.
