it looks good, real good, but DAMN you should get some different rims. it would look better, and the car would probably go a lot faster since apparently those rims are extremely heavy. and they are already 18" rims and tires, so there is no need to get new tires, saves you money :)
love the car though, it is really nice. how's it drive?

Nice car! Did you install the FMIC? I don't recall seeing that in the magazines. The rear wing is a little too 90's but otherwise its one of GM's best efforts ever in this class of car.

Thanks! And nope, thats stock. Its actually just a radiator for the IC. (Its a liquid to air setup).

These aren't of my engine, I ripped them off another site, but same diff. The intake actually goes down into the fenderwell, a factory cold air setup.

I like that interior, very NOT chevy. Shit it has a nicer one than the C6 LOL

I agree about the rims, put some winter tires on those ones and get some hot ones for teh summer.

Nice car man!

Nice J-body!! J/K I know it's not.

That is a good looking car, change the rims to something meshy and lightweight and your good to go.

Any quirks/wierd things you've discovered yet?

Onstar?

I didn't get the onstar, and as for quirks, the lack of temperature guage is a little strange. You can show the coolant temperature in the dash screen in digital form, but its just not the same. Its bloody hard to get traction in first gear, I'll need to practice my launching for sure. If i'm just crusing at 3000 rpm in first gear and hammer the throttle the P Zeros break free.

Oh.. one other quirk- the front lip is pretty damn low for stock. I have to be super careful leaving parking lots, and winter in deep snow will be fun :nut:

Nope, I got it from GSL and they are only getting 3 this year. 2 are sold (1 was mine). Brandon had said that there were some at southgate a few weeks ago. What I did was test drive the Ion Redline and make my decision from that.

The only options available are sunroof/ Onstar w/ side airbags.

I got the sunroof, everything else is stock on all of them.

Recaros? LSD?

Is there a way to buy one without the wing? Congrats once again you chose the best color! :D

I tried too. He told me there won't be any actual stock for Cobalt SS's until next summer :(

Recaro's and LSD aren't available in Canada, although I think they might be for next year. Even in the states the LSD/Recaros are very very limited production.

The wing is standard, although as someone said it should be easy to convince a 16 year old ricer with a regular cobalt to swap trunk lids.

I hated the spoiler at first, but its actually growing on me now. :dunno:

I wasn't impressed with the handling or the steering. does the cobalt have that electric assist steering too??

Yup, although I'm not sure if the system is the same. Its been months since I drove the redline. As for handling, it outhandled RSX Type S and SRT-4's in several tests, and from the drivers perspective, thats one of my favorite parts of the car :dunno:

I test drove a cooper S not too long ago, and that of course handled better, but this doesn't seem like that big of a step down to me.

There was a black one a Jack Carter that I was inside looking at. For $26K they don't seem to be a bad choice... ;)

Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. I'd LOVE to drive one if I could.

Looks good overall...

things "I" would change....

- slam that bish down.... you can stick your foot in that gap. :)

- Debadge it of it's CHEV logos. Also the SS on the side would have looked better on the fender top to mid right there on the drivers side, vs just floating in no mans land on the door.

- Do the wheels in BLACK Powdercoat. Mean looking then. :) They aren't that bad, I think the stock ride height makes them look worse than they are.

Aside from those few things, and the spoiler I'm a little iffy on, it looks pretty sharp. Can't wait to see it around.

Cheers!

Slamming: I agree it'd be great to get rid of the wheel gap, but I'm pretty sure i'd scrape my front end right off pretty fast. If coilovers come out I might consider them so I can jack it up for winter.

Debadging: Getting done as soon as I have time :)

Wheels: Not a bad idea at all, except I'd like something lighter, those are heavy beasts!

This ain't Cali, can't slam if you want to drive in winter.

So many slammed cars has busted front lips/bump in this city.

Nice ride, I heard it's like $26K too? Definitely better value than RSX.

So true. I see so many lowered cars with cracked front lips that detract from the car's appearance plus handling is important to me and slamming a car worsens the handling and ride.

BTW: Saw a silver Cobalt SS tonight. Hard to miss the spoiler.:D

My car is 4-5" off the ground all around and I got thru the winter fine. Just have to be carefull, snow here does not get that bad anymore within city limits...

Hey you guys should not mention where you park your cars, and or what mods/alarm it has. it makes it super easy for thieves target your car....

Just a suggestion why make it easier for those fuckers to steal your stuff??

nice car by the way.

Looks good, what a complete shame you can't get the Recaros and LSD. With those options it should be similar to the SRT-4 in price.

All together I think they are a nice value. :bigpimp:

Get the track, on the way there dyno it.

The front badge can't just come off cuz the grill is shaped for it, but the gold is horrid. I wanted to put black vinyl over it, but my friend had some CF vinly laying around so I used that for now. Its ok.. just looks sorta grey/silver from a distance.
