My Gym membership expired, and I've come to the realization that I driving to the Gym all the time doesn't suit my lifestyle. I want to get a nice home gym, but I'm not sure where? My buddy got a nice nautilus system at Costco, but they no longer have them. I want something with free-weight Olympic bench press, lat pull-down, squat rack, etc.....and preferably two sets of cables.

Anyone know a good place in town to find this stuff?

I dunno, I have the same feeling.
Im just going to get a home gym, my gym is like 25 min out of my way.

I think costco has some good bowflex's.

check the bargain finder, there's always good sets for a good price.

I have been checking the bargain finder... but as of yet, to no avail. I found two nice systems, but both were sold already.

low budget gym:

department store weightbench

concrete and/or steel plates for 1 inch bars

some pulleys and clothes line(1000lb test) for your upper and lower cable work

legs: if you can't blast your legs with a staircase, then your legs are in excellent shape already so quite your bitching.

I'm not recommending this exact system, but I think something like this is a pretty good choice:

This bench is a great cost-effective option. It's definetely reliable, and if you have a good free-weight setup this should be all you need:

Home gyms can be allright. I might be selling mine soon if you're interested. Just an incline bench with leg extension attatchment as well as some weights.

How did you not notice that your caps lock was on? "wHY? tHEY?" C'mon...

Anyways, like he said the gym is 25 min out of his way. That's 50 min travel time both ways, which may be too much time out of his day. I live a busy schedule these days and if I could cut the commute time from home to the gym, I would have more incentive to work out.

Costco has Bowflex's?
I really need to buff up, and if you're serious you've got me interested!

Ya man, im not sure about anymore? but I know they did, my dad bought one for my cousin there about 6 months ago.
It was the higher end one I believe, and it was something like $1100. They also had one for $900.

I'd be scared for my life benching 200lbs on that thing.

Anybody have experience/currently use the bowflex? I would like some input before I would invest in one.

As far as I'm concerned Bowflex is just an ordinary piece of home gym equipment that is advertised extraordinarily and extremely overpriced.

The fact is, that if you strength train with anything, eat a healthy diet, and do cardio of course you are going to see results.

I think the Bowflex is extremely overrated and overpriced, remember it's not the equipment you are on, it's the intensity of what you are doing with the equipment that will show you results.

Bowflex:thumbsdow

i was thinking about asking for a set of those powerblocks for christmas, and an adjustable bench. i could pretty much hit most muscle groups with that, excluding legs.

I got mine (nautilus smith machine) from Costco for like $980 including tax. There was this one here on beyond used for sale a while back... he might give you a good deal...

This is the exact same machine I've got... it's well built IMO.... better than those from Canadian tire or sears... and I could say better than some stuff from fitness depot.... and this is smith machine so pretty safe using at home when there's no one to spot you...

When I was looking around, fitness depot was asking like 1700 just for the smith machine cage alone... no bench, no plates, and the one from fitness depot doesn't have the cables...

check the guy if he still has it...
