Why do a lot of engines have 3 or 5 valves/cylinder? How does this work? Which gets the extra valve, intake or exhaust? Just seems kinda weird to me to have more flow on one end than the other :dunno:

Our 3.2L Benz engines (320 and supercharged 32) have a 3 valve system... 2 intake, one exhaust. It's supposed to be better for emissions or something.

ya that right because there isnt constant air flow

does that sound right :dunno:
