I guess it goes to show that everyone has some recalls sooner or later and that japanese auto makers are not as reliable as everyone makes them out to be

Toyota is the most reliable car manufacturer in the world for many, many years now. It's also projected to become the largest auto manufacturer in the world in the near future.

That's the dumbest statement I've ever heard. Every manufacturer recalls vehicles, no manufacturer is perfect. Toyota, however, is on top in terms of overall quality.

Just because someone decided to write an article and make the recall more public doesn't change anything at all.

toyota is made also by humans, people are not perfect mistakes happen. toyota will over take gm in a few years and be number one. so i am I missing something here?

Yup, most recalls never make the news. Just like car crashes, only the big ones get press coverage.
