I hate the IRS!!!

Got a letter in the mail this morning that says I owe them money. They say I did my tax return wrong and I am screwed.

This sucks so bad, I shouldn't have to pay them shit since I am paying Canadian taxes, now they want me to double pay!!!!

And why wouldn't you pay the IRS? You live in the states, you work in the states, so you should pay taxes in the states.

I live in Canada, I work in Canada and I pay Canadian Taxes.

However I am a US Permanent Resident so I still have to file taxes but show that I payed Canadian Taxes.

For some reason they think I should pay taxes on what I earned here in Canada even though I filled out all the appropriate paperwork.

You should get a credit for the taxes paid in Canada. Since we pay higher taxes than the US, it should cover more than what they're asking for.

They are all hung up on my deduction for US tuition.
They haven't told me why yet but its pretty lame.
In the US the government sends you a reciept for how much you can deduct, so I deducted that much and now they are saying its too much.

Nope but it can affect your ability to go the US which is really important for my job.

I think I will have to go to Tax Court:(
