what dvd drive do you have? perhaps a firmware update?
correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think windows supports drag/drop RW
as well, try opening up nero burning rom (instead of xpress) and format the -RW first, or do a test w/ a small 100mb file

Don't forget that some of those DVD-RW's only last about 20 read/writes or so, some more, some less, check the label then minus 5 read/writes to be safe. It is good if you want to backup some information and store it away, but to use as a portable emdia device could end up costing you more money then say a 20gb USB HDD.

Most likely, good to know becuase I used to think those original 4x CD-Rws would last forever, I think after 30 they died on me, I lost quite abit of movies but atleast it wasn't important data. Have fun with them :)

by firmware i mean flashing the rom inside the drive, not drivers used by the os
