Hey, just have a quick question. I was parked in the mynt/cowboys lot last night which is owned by impark, and I got a city of calgary ticket... Anything I can do about it?

Did anyone else see mcleod tr south of anderson today, TONS of cars getting pulled over, i saw 5 in a little stretch of road and more cop cars and officers hiding. Big time crackdown so watch your speed.

i dont think so.
i hear that once you get 2 impark tickets in the same lot the city gives you one.
i found it out the hardway. i decided to throw it out as usual...then got a nice letter and phone call.

No there is nothing you can do. Because Impark cannot send collection notices out anymore (they lost access to the database) they call the Calgary Parking Authority to issue tickets whenever they can.

Good to know, was going to get a parking ticket but something came up, so i'm not bitching about it, i just found it strange that it was a city of calgary ticket.

Well, when you go to renew the registration on your car, you will have to pay.

You're talking about insurance. Registration renewal is where they nail you for unpaid tickets.

take it to court, the cop will most likely not show up and it will get thrown out

Actually my dads cousin is an senior RCMP officier and they like when you dont pay little parking tickets and such. The reason being is that if your ever brought into custody on suspision of something, and they dont have enough evidence to send you away, they can hold you for a number of days because of the unpaid tickets and other similar violations. This gives them more time to collect more evidence and investigation without having to release you back into the public after a certain amount of time.
