View Full Version : resetting Audi ECU

i know with civics and stuff you can just unplug your ecu and put it back in and its reset. can i do this with a 98 audi 2.8 A4?

I don't know if it's anything like on Dodges, but you can try uhooking the battery for about 45 minutes and putting it back in.

wow nowhere near 45 minutes. just disconnect the battery for 10 or 15 and it should work.
you will know the ECU is reset because the car won't start on the first try, but it should start on the second try. that might not go for Audis, but in any case just disconnect the battery, leave it over night just to be sure, and try it again in the morning. some cars will have a CEL if you disconnect the battery. mine does, I'm not sure how it remembers the battery was disconnected, but it does :D

yeah i thought thats whati could maybe do i just want to be sure it works on audis incase i screw something up
