Customs Question

Hey guys,

I have a parcel which I shipped via DHL, that has been under "clearance delay" for a while now. I called DHL and they told me that it would have to be self-cleared. I have never done this, could someone tell me some suggestions how to approch this. They also said I could clear it through a customs broker, does anyone know of a good one? Does it matter?
