WTF? Cell phone display can't be seen with polarized sunglasses! (pics inside)

I bought a new LG 4600 phone with a colour display a few months ago. I just got a new pair of polarized shades yesterday and discovered that I can't see the display with them on! If I turn my head or the phone 90 degrees either way, I can see it perfectly. My old pair of polarized shades does the exact same thing. :thumbsdow

Is this inherent in ALL colour displays or just LG? Not a problem with my old Samsung with monochrome display or any other LCD display I have that I tested so far. I noticed that this LG display is "portrait" and all the other displays I have around the house are "landscape."

I seem to remember BMW having the same problem with their nav screens on the '02 5-Series and it was corrected the next year.

your sunglasses polarized lines are upright, the lines on your phone are horizontal....so it gets blocked...

Yep, that's right. My Seimens fades to black at about 60 degrees... I have wierd glasses! :D

Ya, my glasses do the same thing. It's a pain when trying to pay with debit.

Get funny looks when you try typing in your PIN # and holding the thing sideways at the same time.

they have those test things when you buy sunglasses at most stores where you can't see the glare or sumthing..then if u turn 90 degrees back to normal... :dunno:

with the disc of polorized shit and what not?
how if you spin it some light can't get past and crap LOL and oyu put 2 disc together and you turn one clockwise (over an overhead)
and it blocks off the light
it's just how the screen on your cell phone is i blieve

yeah my BB is hard to see as well, and paying debit sucks!

my V60 was the worst, it would go completely black, as did the telus LG's

My Motorolla's were fine but I have the exact same POS phone and also cannot see it through my Raybans.
