But if it stays nice...I'm gonna go down and see if the track prep is as good as it supposedly is after the Race City May long weekend event.

Might make for some good traction and therefore good times. I just got to burn off some fuel here as last time I went I had over half a tank of gas. I wanna be as light as possible if I go tonight.

Definitely looking like a superb day for it.

I'm going to race tonite. I got the speed pass last time so I don't have to go through tech. Does anyone know what I should do? Do I just fill out the form and get the number on my car without going to the line at all?

From what I understand with the speed pass is that you pull up next to tech, fill out your form hand it to one of the staff and throw on your number!!

I know it sounds funny but all you do is ask for a speed pass and if they give it to you, you never have to wait in tech line again unless you change something significant on your car. LOL it's nothing to do with how fast or slow your car is.

The weather is so nice out there...I don't think I can resist the temptation. Well, apparently I can't - since I just removed the street tires and slapped on the drag radials.

I'll be there hoping to run fast enough that I'm happy, and slow enough that they don't kick me off the track for breaking the rules.

i am gonna come out again tonight, gonna try some new launch teqnoques to try and get my 60' times down, apreantly at 5000ft of elevation a good launch on a stock sti can net you a 1.689 60'er

Yes. Do you have my 12.6 run? (Any of them?) But specifically the 117mph trap one? I'd be interested in it if you do have it.

As for turnin' up the boost...

I am. Guilty as charged. No one seems to run any more than 18psi on pump fuel (for those Z owners with identical turbo set up as me on the 300) -> So I will go to 17 to 17.5 MAX tonight.

Going to keep it safe. Still planning on pump fuel runs to keep it real. Last time I was using scramble boost for short spikes but with the boost at 13.5 psi (scramble 16psi for 2 secs) and that's what I did for my 12.6 runs. But with a 117mph trap I can run faster than 12.6. Keeping the boost at 13.0 - 13.5 for the entire run yielded times of 12.9 - 13.1.

I am expecting to run faster tonight simply because I believe the track prep will be good. If I can hook the Z up, I'm looking for low 12's like 12.1 - 12.4 time frame. If I go under 11.99 you'll see me pick up my time slip and be sent packing. <Albeit with a smile on my face!> I'll be violating a tiny rule but they make no exceptions. Once I fix that little glitch, then I can run to 11.49 but no faster. (Must have roll bar at that point - my car isn't that fast anyhow!)

This time I'll probably start at 15psi and turn it up to about 17.5psi. I have run it at 18psi and it doesn't detonate. Just a couple tests on the street but it pulled good and strong and no hesitation/detonation.

But I definitely want to do a run with it set at 17.5psi all the way. No scramble. I'm curious if it'll matter other than in MPH -> and it's a beautiful day.

The best 60 ft time I have had was 1.721.

That was with very little (if any) wheelspin. I will however never do that again as that is a sure fire way to snap the rear axels. I usually go through the water so that no matter how badly I screw up the launch, I will get some wheelspin to avoid the axel snap. Lucky that we have a center locking diff so that we can at least limp home and not have to ride on the back of a tow truck.

Hmm, I could not hook up worth shit.
13.73 at 103.7mph was my best and second run of 10.

Somehow my mph has gone up since last season with a best of 104.5mph. That's good for 12's with a 1.85 60' on slicks.
I heard Z Fan got a low 12 which is awesome.
I raced Aleks once and you were trapping over 102mph.

I only ran 4 times. The last one was uhm, well, I let off cuz something wasn't right - I'll have to see what is up tomorrow. Car felt like it was pinging (hesitation anyhow) and so I thought better of keeping the foot to the floor. Then I went home.

The other three passes were all low 12's. I especially like the 12.03 cuz if I run 11.99 I get kicked out LOL. :poosie:

So, I won't be back anytime soon until I meet the rules to run that quickly. But the car will see 11's later in the year. I will probably just go in the SRT-4 when I go next...

I ran a 13.7 on that run.

I ran a 13.4 later on, I think if I drop my tire pressure I could get a lot better launches.

My cold tire pressure was 40 psi since I was setup for autox.

I have your 13.1, and 13.06 I believe. Last night I only caught your last run at 13.67 or something. I saw your third run, but I had just walked up to the bleachers. I didn't video tape much at all last night. Nice work though btw! I can't wait to see you hit 11's. :thumbsup: It would be sweet to see what you run at Bud Park too, the lower elevation and nicer prep.

I did however snap my CF lip in two:cry:
on the bright side i had the fastest run of the night
managed to squeez out a 62.79 run
what pole is out there that you can hit anyway, I dont recal seeing any?

You probably didn't see cause you were heading backwards towards it LOL

I think there is a pole as you head into the infield, which you may have been close to when you spun out coming out of the slalom.

I saw a couple of your runs that couldn't have been that fast since you were pretty much outta control. :-) But then you came back with a pretty good run which was probably the quick one.

Smooth is gonna be faster than if you get out of shape and have to let off to collect the car...

:werd: It was the floodlight pole as u head into the infield. From the stands it looked like you were about to spin into the pole. Lots of gasps from the audience (mostly hoping you would hit the pole to make it worth the $5 entrance...lol) You and the RX7 had some awesome runs! :thumbsup:

oh haha was that when i saved the car... i never really saw the pole, guess i was concentrating to much on the cones.. but yeah like Z_Fan says i need to slow down, really i just go out there to go have a good time in my car, not really looking to make a fast run.

I was also playing with the DCCD and that totally chages how the car drives.. but all in all that was a good night:thumbsup:
