I had the best bbq'd korean beef short ribs I have ever had in my life -- I think they were called Bul-galbi (sp?)

Does anyone have the marinade recipe?

MUCH appreciated.

Man, that is a Korean cultural secret. If we told you, we would have to kill you.

haha, I could ask my mom.

Umm...I think you put sesame seed oil (+ sesame seeds if you want), soy sauce, and sugar onto a bunch of meat and mix it around? They are ready to cook right away, no sitting time required. I couldn't really tell you the relative amounts that you put in, as I just throw in whatever feels right. It should come out pretty good regardless unless you really screw it up.

I'm not sure if that's the "bulgolbi" junk, I think I've heard my mom refer to it as that once. Oh yeah, and I always use small strips of beef, not ribs, so it might be different. At any rate, it's meat and it's good.

There are tons of recipes on google for these ribs.

Do a search, lots of detailed ones too.

I just found a few good ones thanks. I am going to try this one tonight:

4 beef short ribs
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup dry sherry
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon ginger, fresh grated

I think the secret is butterflying the ribs.

I made them yesterday -- marinaded for 3 hours, turned out perfect.
