THAT'S RIGHT!!! GTS JEFF IS GETTING A J-BODY!!!!

Haha work is buying me a car, and I get to pick between a Cobalt or a Sunfire. 4dr, automatic, a/c, power locks and windows included...I also need to decide on a colour (they all look so stupid on these damn cars) and extra options (the first $750 is company paid.)

The Cobalt seems sportier, but isn't the Sunfire slightly higher classed?

Class isn't an issue when you compare these cars

Cobalt in blue

I've been a driver and passenger in a Cobalt before. Not a bad interior for that kind of car.

I'd go with the Cobalt. Newer design and probably nicer than a 'Fire. Burnt orange is where it's at for color! too bad you couldn't get a 2dr cobalt. the 4 doors look boring.

Once you get the company car, are you going to park the Corolla or still drive it?

OMG!! can someone confirm that GTS Jeff's beyond account got hacked? Has hell frozen over? I coulda sworn Jeff swore many many times he'd never drive a jbody!! then again... a cobalt really isnt a jbody.. it's a jbody replacement.. more like he's driving a saturn ion really.. something like that.

Get the cobalt.. it's new, probably has a few more fancy things than the sunfire.. I believe the sunfire will also get it's own replacement in the next couple of years.

next time you come to calgary, we can race to see who's slower. Oh wait.. mine's a cavalier.. I win... and lost.. somehow.

At first, I was going to reply about how much respect I lost for you....
Then I read that it's your work buying you the car :bigpimp:

Who cares what you choose. Company vehicles are all free!
Good stuff, and congrats

Hehehehe I never thought this day would come either!

I'm gonna go with a Cobalt in black (the least dumb looking colour IMO) and for the options I'm gonna get the mp3 deck, speakers+sub, and fog lights.

Work won't let me get a Cobalt SS or anything two door or manual cuz I need to take customers out and whatnot in this vehicle.

The only way I can make progress on the Corolla, ie. fixing broken shit, is to drive it often so that the old shit breaks.

Sooo many people complained about keeping a black car clean. Why not get a blue one instead? :dunno:

You might actually be pleasantly suprised. The stereo sounds pretty decent for a stock setup.

Oh! I remember seeing that at the auto show. So it's confirmed that that's gonna be the replacement for the sunfire?

243MPH!! that's like some crazy j-body owner's wet dream:eek:

actually.. the more and more I look at that car from an angle, it looks like a honda civic for some reason. I saw a couple cobalt coupes driving around, and the first impression of the rear end was very neon-ish (just by the way it's shaped) but the tail lights are slowly starting to grow on me.

The pursuits have been out for several months already. There is no 2 door available though. They aren't even sold in the states, it was just done because Canada for some reason is a very hot market for pontiac.

The j-bodies were replaced by 2 different cars.

For chev, its the cobalt and optra (cobalt being 'higher' end, optra being lower end). For pontiac its the pursuit and the wave??

Jeff, get a 95 cavalier. WAY easier to mod cause of HUGE APC aftermarket support.

Xtrema

Go with Cobalt.

Cobalt isn't repalcement for J-body Cavalier/Sunfire. Even tho size and performance seem to make sense to scrap Cavalier/Sunfire after introudction of Cobalt, I remember reading something that union @ GM has something to do with it. And GM always denie it as a replacment.

Pursuit is regrilled Cobalt, Canada only. Since compacts has the biggest market and not every GM dealer carries both Pontiac and Chevy.

just get the cobalt.

$750 should easily cover these necessary j-body accesories:
A lei for the rearview mirror and a Roxy sticker for the back window

-Note: In case of emergency, ski goggles can be used in place of the lei.

Another vote for Cobalt, hands down. I'd go with the blue, myself. Nice catch, Jeff. I have a vague recollection of you work for from an old debate we had. Still though, why is your employer buying you a new ride? How the heck did you score that deal???
