View Full Version : HELP: Something wrong with my computer

I just upgrade my notebook and desktop from XP professional to SP2. it works fine with my notebook but something strange happen with my desktop. Can anyone help me to solve it?

the first error it says:
To protect your computer, Windows already close this system.
Name: Run a DLL as an App
Producer: Microsoft Corporation

2 choices: 1. change the setting. 2. close the message.

First it comes up when i start the window. the message pop up and i follow the instuction to check the control panel -> system -> advance (4th tab) -> efficacy(1st one) setting -> file apply and prevent (DEP) after check it i restart the computer and everything is fine, but after awhile,

this happens when i open control panel -> system
and now also happens in Paint, Disk Space Cleanup Manager for Windows......

2nd error is like:
"0x77d1eaa1" command refer "0x77d1eaa1" memory. this memory can't be "written"

please press OK to terminate the system
please press cancel to debug

it happens to my calculator and when the above error pops up.

can someone help me to solve these problems.

I think there's a patch from Microsoft to fix that problem for SP2. You might want to look into that?!

how about trying a clean install with xp pro w/ sp2 instead of upgrading?

i tried, but is the same.
restart the computer and it goes ok for awhile and after awhile it happens again
can someone help me out

I read the microsoft page, it said can change the setting from /NoExecute=OptOut to /AlwaysOff from bootcfg.exe.
anyone know how to do it in bootcfg.exe, what are the steps?
