I've been told that there is a design error in these cars.
I think it was something like a valve sticking problem.

I just read a review on the same 98 Honda Accord with
a sticking valve. Set the poor guy back about 200 green ones.

I'm actually looking for a used car. Something like a
Honda Accord preferably, LX or EX, around the years of
1998-2000.

Could i have your views please?
:dunno:

isn't it just the valve timing?

i don't think it's just the valve timing cos the entire valve had to be replaced.

Its probaly the hydraulic lash ajuster that wears out. I know on my truck that the adjuster is wornen out so when i start it after sitting for awhile, the oil inside of it has leaked out and the valve makes a ticking noise.. just gotta wait for the oil to fill back up.. I got the part in my room.. just gotta find the time to do it

It can't be a serious problem. Probably one in a hundred thousand. And between 91 and 98, Hond ahas gone thru a lot of different engines.
