I'd get a Prelude.... haha. actually, if I had $30k I would put down a downpayment on a s2k and start paying it off. haha.

But I wouldn't spend all the money on a car, I'd spend most of it on the car and the rest of it for mod money.

haha, but then i can't like choose a cheaper car and buy mods, because my parents are helping me with this, ill be paying half the monthly payments and such. and i just wanna get a nice car that will be very reliable and i can mod after once i payed off the car.

oh buh_buh you have pm.

you can always learn man!
$30k is hard to find a car, because most cars are either $35k+ or like $20k.

boi-alien
01-18-2003, 01:36 PM
yea for a new car $30k is kind of an in between number... it's hard to find something in that range... like buhbuh said, they're usually $20-25k then it goes to the $32-35k range

Ok I don't want to hijack your thread but I will anyway! haha
The question is not what car would you buy right now but rather is this car going to be YOURS? If it is that means you need to purchase insurance, so FULL TIME or PART TIME? and the REAL question is how much do you want to pay for insurance?

I'm telling you right now, if you are going full time by yourself and you buy a Prelude your insurance is going to be $8000, just something for you to think about buddy!

And for $30K....the list is endless! What are your needs? You want a coupe? Sedan? You want a car for practicality or for looks? Performance? You want to buy new or used? Does brand name matter?

Part time will still run you from $4-5K under your parents name! I know because I was 18 a few years back and was pondering the same thing....I bought a brand new Prelude SH at the time and got JACKED for insurance lol:rofl: Well at least buhbuh knows how I feel haha:thumbsup:

Man, why would you tinker with something like that? Are you sure your parents or your insurance or your dealer would be happy with that?

For all that labor, why not just buy the Type-S to start with......

the rsx-s to sir swap has been done, it'll fit, cause the sir is basically an rsx base motor. but the k-series motors are very expensive right now, because there aren't enough wrecked vehicles... yet

45-50k....

Same as a 350Z most likely.

The new mazda RX-8 should be just under $40k for the 6 speed, 250 hp model and closer to $35k for the 210 hp automatic. But they are taking orders now for august delivery.

Of course with the 350Z being priced higher, i'm sure that Mazda will tack on $5K to each.

Wow, MSRP is $5000 cheaper than 350Z and $8000 cheaper than S2000?

you can get a 2002 RSX-S (no kms) for just over 30k at northwest acura right now...just go hassle them, worked for me!

I figure the RX-8 will be mid- to high 40's. The RX-7 was close to 40k when they stopped selling them in the early 90's.
