How to clear hard drive?

I need to clear my whole hard drive because im selling my computer this coming weekend.
How do I go about doing so?
I need everything gone, cleared... erased. I have taken all my needed files off and burnt them to a cd.
I need the hard drive to be cleared like it was when it was brand new. Right done to deleting the parition I created.
Any help is appreciated. :)

just put in the Operating system disk, boot from cd, delete all partitions, and reinstall the OS

restart with bootdisks into MSDOS, format c: (if d: aswell then format d: aswell) fdisk and delete partitions. Although people prefer to buy and look at computers forsale when there is an OS on them.

its already sold and he wants the hard drive clear when he gets it. Thanx alot for the help thumbsup

You can still always use undelete programs to get ur old files. I'd never sell a HD with anything important on it unless i wiped it with 0's 5 times.
