Just thought i'd whore a picture of an end tank i welded up for myself tonight. Its 9.5" long and 2.75" wide. 2.5" pipe.

I suprised myself tonight. I haven't done any aluminum tig for like a year!

The pipe weld is a little bit bloby, i needed a thicker tungsten than 1/16" or whatever i was using but didn't have any.

This took me 3 hours to fab and weld. The second one should take less then 1.5.

The tank welding looks very good but the outlet is a little rough, what preheat are you using on the thicker part? Any pics of the inside?

A friend of mine used to work as an aluminum fabricator building everything from solid aluminum work tables to fluid tanks. From seeing his work I can tell you the tank welds definetly look top notch

Thanks. Like i said primer_drift i was using a 1/16" tungsten up to 130 or so amps. It was like a peice of spaghetti. I should be using 3/32"
