Besides models and engines etc. do these cars ride on the same basic platform or are they completely seperate from each other?

SLK (R170) is based on the older C class platform (W202).
Latest CLK (W209) is based on the current C class platform (W203)
Last year's CLK (W208) is based on the E class platform (W210)

I might be wrong on the last year CLK's info... not 100% sure on that one.

I think the old CLK (W208) is also based on the older C class platform (W202).

Wow so confusing :)

Kenny is right, rage is wrong :D Old clk is on C class platform, not E. Only coupe based on E class was the actual E class w124 coupe as far as I know.

I have no idea what the SLK is based on, I thought it was it's own platform. You could always do a search on the net, or I might be at the dealership tomorrow to pick up my car if it's ready and I could ask for you.
